This was a sub-project for the paper Spatial Type, in which a class of 24 students collaborated and completed 11 different briefs. One of them was to redesign the current Massey University (Wellington) Map.

Many issues are apparent in the current design, including the difficulty of locating oneself on it and then navigating through the vast site. A heads-up map model was used in the redesign to show users the university orientation from the direction of the map's view. After many iterations and conversations about key information to include, we settled on the following final iterations. Although this was just a hypothetical map redesign, from a technical standpoint, it functions much better than the current design and simplifies the user experience.
