Twenty Typefaces That Changed the World

This project is an editorial piece based on the book 50 Typefaces that Changed the World by John L. Waters. The provided content had to be manipulated and displayed in a contemporary style that worked with a theme dependent on our chosen 20th typeface. I chose Martina Plantijn by the Klim Type Foundry, a revival/modern version of the serif classic Plantin. This font style inspired the book's rustic, modern, dark feeling. Mustard orange highlights and stands out as the primary colour.

During this project, we experimented with typographic and grid layout systems and many editorial do's and don'ts.

Created using Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
